Cinnamon apple chips.
Simple, healthy and yummy.
One of the alternatives to enjoy apples are made into chips. It need patience to bake it but this healthy snack is actually very easy to make.
Besides last time I’ve made Apple Ring Bread, also make apple chips using Gala apples. This type of apple is small so it’s easier when sliced thinly to make chips.
- 3 or 4 Gala apples
- cinnamon powder
Wash apples and pat dry.
Use sharp knife slice as thin as you can. I like using a knife because I have full control over slicing process. Using a mandolin sometimes get unwanted results. I simply remove the seeds.
Prepare two baking sheet and parchment paper. Arrange apple slices in single layer on baking sheets.
Sprinkle with cinnamon powder on both sides.
Bake in preheated oven at 190 C.
Put the baking sheets in upper third and lower third.
Bake 1 hour then flip over the chips and switch position of baking sheet. Continue baking for about 1 or 2 hours depending on your oven. While baking you can do other thing.
The more they dry, they will be curly at the edges.
After I turned off the oven I let them inside for a while. And let cool in room temperature before store in airtight container.
Crisp and the natural sweet comes out without need to add sugar.
